Inter Milan midfielder Mattias Vecino won’t be joining Premier League giants Manchester United before the winter transfer window ends this month according to Duncan Castles.

The experienced journalist told Transfer Window Podcast that Inter Milan manager Antonio Conte wants to keep the Uruguayan international at the club amidst the interest from Manchester United.

It had been suggested that Mattias Vecino would leave Inter Milan to make way for the arrival of Christian Eriksen from North London side Tottenham Hotspur.

Christian Eriksen has six months on his Spurs deal and he has agreed a salary package worth £360,000 on a weekly basis plus add-ons.

Inter Milan have agreed a £17m deal with Tottenham Hotspur for Eriksen and the Danish international will undergo his medical with the Italians this week.

He would be the third Premier League player to join Inter Milan after Ashley Young and Victor Moses.

Ashley Young has signed for the Italians from Manchester United in a €1.5m deal, while Chelsea loanee Victor Moses has joined on loan for this season.

Mattias Vecino was the subject of loan interest from Manchester United but the Red Devils were unsuccessful as their search for new signings continue with five days left before the winter transfer window ends.
