Liverpool and Manchester United will rekindle their rivalry later this weekend at Anfield in what would be their second meeting of the season in the Premier League.
The likes of Virgil Van Dijk, Sadio Mane, Fabinho, Takumi Minamino, Roberto Firmino, and Nathaniel Clyne could have been playing for Manchester United rather than Liverpool.

For Dutch international Van Dijk, Manchester United were late in their approach for him as Liverpool already had an agreement in place to sign him from Southampton in January 2018.
Manchester United were interested in Sadio Mane in 2015 while manager Louis Van Gaal was still in charge of the first team at Old Trafford but the move didn’t appeal to the Senegalese international thus prompting the Red Devils to sign Anthony Martial.
Fabinho was a transfer target at Manchester United under Jose Mourinho while he was at AS Monaco in 2017 only for the Portuguese to prioritize the signing of Serbian international Nemanja Matic.
Roberto Firmino was also a transfer target for Manchester United under Dutchman Louis Van Gaal who left Old Trafford after just two seasons in 2016.
