Ex-Manchester United midfielder Paul Scholes is confident that star player Marcus Rashford will be fit for the crunch league game away to Liverpool.

Marcus Rashford is a serious doubt for the game after aggravating a back problem during the Wolves game in the FA Cup.

The injury to the England international was the only downside during the Wolves game which ended in a 1-0 home win for Manchester United as they booked a fourth round place in the competition via the their round replay.

Manchester United legend Paul Scholes said Marcus Rashford will be fit for the Liverpool game while he was on BT Sports shortly after the Wolves game at Old Trafford on Wednesday night.

Marcus Rashford is the topscorer for Manchester United this season with 19 goals in all competitions which is more than any other player in the Premier League.

On his injury, Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said that Rashford had a slight back issue before the Wolves game and that was why he started it on the bench.

He came on as a 64th minute substitute for Daniel James and had a hand in the only goal of the game scored by Juan Manuel Mata before the back injury forced him out of the game with ten minutes left to play.
