Liverpool fans have reacted badly to the news that Craig Pawson would be the man at the centre for the upcoming Premier League clash with arch rivals Manchester United.
Craig Pawson would be the centre referee for the game billed to take place at Anfield on Sunday evening.
It was also revealed that Paul Tierney would be in the VAR room.
Craig Pawson was in charge when Manchester United beat Liverpool 2-1 at home in March 2018 but he has since overseen two Liverpool matches which ended in victories for the Merseysiders.

A lot of Liverpool fans took to social media to express their negative opinions about the appointment of Craig Pawson with some calling him incompetent to handle a game of that magnitude.
The game between Liverpool and Manchester United is widely known as the English Derby due to the long history of the two teams.
Leaders Liverpool have been in sensational league form in this campaign and they have gone 21 matches without defeat since the start of the season ahead of the Manchester United clash at the weekend.
