Manchester United fans were sent into a frenzy when the alleged picture of Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Ruben Neves surfaced on social media.
The back of man that Manchester United fans thought was Ruben Neves was shown in the picture taken at the club’s Carrington training base in Manchester.
The fans were put out of their excitement when Wolves denied the picture was that of Ruben Neves who has previously been linked with Manchester United.
The Portuguese international was seen as a possible signing for Manchester United by club officials last season but the interest in him has waned over the past months.

Manchester United fans are desperate for the club to make significant signings this month that will help the team in the second half of this campaign.
The team is short in midfield due to injuries to key players and it looks like Manchester United officials will have to address that lack of quality by signing a midfielder at least.
Paul Pogba and midfield partner Scott McTominay are both injured and are not expected back in the colours of Manchester United until next month.
Bruno Fernandes is a player that has popped up as a midfield target in the past and Manchester United have reignited their interest in him.
