EPL: How Jose Mourinho Could End Liverpool’s Unbeaten Premier League Record Revealed

Jose Mourinho

Jose Mourinho would love nothing more than to be the man to stop Liverpool who are on a sensational unbeaten run in the Premier League.

Mourinho had a fantastic start to his Spurs’ managerial career winning four of his first five games in the Premier League but his honeymoon period seems to be over after the recent poor run of games.

His team has recorded just one win in the last five games in all competitions and the last team Mourinho and his players would have wanted to play is Liverpool who have beaten all-comers before them this season.

The Reds have been almost flawless in the Premier League this season with 19 wins and one draw from the 20 league games played this season.

They have an advantage of 13 points at the Premier League summit despite playing a game more than their nearest challengers Leicester City.

Mourinho would be relishing the challenge to end the long unbeaten run of Liverpool though his record against Reds boss Jurgen Klopp is not inspiring.

He has won just two of the 10 games played between the two managers.

Liverpool have gone 37 games without defeat in the league and avoiding defeat will make it one season and 38 games but they would be wary of history as this weekend two years ago was when they stopped the unbeaten run of Manchester City via a 4-3 win.

Emerging reports reveal that English Premier League outfit Chelsea have received a bid of £23 million for left full-back Emerson Palmieri from Italian Serie A outfit Inter Milan.

While the Blues are willing to part ways with the player, Inter Milan are keen to land him to solve their defensive issues ahead of the coming season.

For the West London club, doing away with Emerson Palmieri and Marcus Alonso is already in the pipeline with newcomers for the left-back position a target in the coming summer transfer window. No wonder Frank Lampard now prefers to make us of Ceaser Azpilicueta who is not a natural left player.

Tutto Mercato Web reports that Chelsea Director Marina Granovskaia initially requested for £27 million for Emerson Palmieri but is forced to come down on the price because it is becoming clear that he no longer has a future at the Stamford Bridge.

Inter Milan are offering Emerson Palmieri a five year deal, and he would be paid £3.6 million a year at the San Siro.

However, The West London outfit are considering the option of Leicester City defender Ben Chilwell as a replacement for the left-back position as there is no assurance that Marcos Alonso will also be staying after this season.

James Milner is a utility player who can operate from both sides of the team and can play as a central midfielder. His presence will go a long way in helping Liverpool to win more games.

One ‘error’ made by Jurgen Klopp that worked for him

Timothy Aiyeku

Liverpool have been blistering in great form for the past seasons and it is widely believed that manager Jurgen Klopp has been making the right decisions with his recruitment, choice of players for games, and substitutions.

That may not be all true according to a former Liverpool player Emile Heskey who claimed that Jurgen Klopp’s usage of Trent Alexander-Arnold at the right full-back position is not the best for the player.

In his analysis, the former Reds claims that Trent Alexander-Arnold is best as a midfielder and not a right-back, adding that at the right-back position, the player provided 12 assists in 33 EPL games, making him one of the most creative legs in the league. He is reported to have created 79 opportunities for his teammates and 17 of them are classified as big chances.

No wonder, Trent Alexander-Arnold is being compared with De Bruyne in terms of crossing and passing ability. It is only the Man City midfielder that has created more chances than the Reds youngster.

Emile Heskey feels Trent Alexander-Arnold is very influential in the Jurgen Klopp team and he could be handed another role while younger players like Neco Williams, a 19-year-old Academy player could be made to replace him, having proved to be a prospect with his performance when he was subbed in during the Crystal Palace game that ended 4-0 last month.

paul pogba

Former Man United defender Rio Ferdinand has claimed that Paul Pogba is now a new player after seeing a rejuvenated France international.

According to Ferdinand, Paul Pogba has been a different player since the restart of football, noting that it has really helped the team.

He stressed that Pogba is now playing like the player the Red Devils paid £89 million to buy from Italian Serie A outfit Juventus about four years ago, adding that his energy level has been incredible.

Rio Ferdinand therefore, claims that the new Pogba was born with the coming of Bruno Fernandes from Sporting Lisbon.

He noted that Fernandes is the motivation the World Cup winner needed as he will not like to be outplayed in any way.

However, the perfect match of Paul Pogba and Bruno Fernandes has helped the Red Devils form as they have been scoring a lot of goals since the restart of the season.

The Red Devils are now confidently pushing to secure a Champions League spot, hoping to displace Chelsea in the fourth position as they are just two points apart.

No doubt, fans will have to wait until the final game of the season before knowing the fate of the teams.

Erling Haaland

English Premier League outfit Man United were linked with Erling Haaland in the January transfer window but failed to put a deal through.

The Red Devils failed to meet with the reported demand of German Bundesliga
club Borussia Dortmund and that messed up the deal.

Erling Haaland is one of the best strikers the world can boast of today which has been confirmed by the Red Devils legend Paul Scholes who gave a detailed analysis of the player.

Paul Scholes faults his former club for missing out on a striker with such quality in the winter window, insisting that no amount was too much for the young land.

The United legend stated that he has properly watched the 20-year-old in the restart of the season and is surprised any team can claim to seek a bargain of any sort for his fee.

He noted that Erling Haaland is a good and young player who is an “out-and-out goalscorer”.

In giving a detailed analysis of Erling Haaland, Paul Scholes stated that he is quick with a good pace and that gives him a good presence to score goals.

The contract of former Man United captain Antonio Valencia with LDU Quito has been terminated.

The former Red Devils player only left the Old Trafford about 12 months ago after having 339 appearances at the Old Trafford before returning to his homeland of Ecuador with LDU Quito.

The Coronavirus pandemic that is ravaging the world has affected the club and its finance, they will no longer be able to meet with the contract agreement with Antonio Valencia, reason why it was terminated.

Valencia played 28 games for LDU Quito, scoring one goal and providing two assists before the latest development.

The club made it known that the decision was reached after mutual talks with the player over the issue.

Antonio Valencia is now a free player who still seek to continue his football career, even at age 35 as there are no expectations that he would retire anytime soon.

It is, therefore, believed that Europe will be his next destination and will be available in the summer transfer window.

Hopefully, EPL clubs will still come begging for his signature.

Major concerns about his fitness would be his only barrier to getting a new club as he has not played for the past four months.
