Mikel Arteta

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has been lauded for the way he was able to turn around the FA Cup third-round meeting with Leeds United in his side’s favour.

Mikel Arteta was praised by former Premier League player and English football legend Gary Lineker via his official Twitter handle as he was impressed by the way the Spaniard was able to turn things around at the halftime interval after a disjointed first-half display from the Gunners.

Arteta made it two wins in a row as the new Arsenal manager after the Gunners beat Leeds United 1-0 courtesy the second-half strike from Reiss Nelson.

He had earlier gone two games without victory at the start of his managerial career at Arsenal before the last two games against Manchester United and Leeds United.

Mikel Arteta spent five years as an Arsenal player before he retired from football to take up an assistant role at Manchester City.

He was at Manchester City for three years until his appointment as the new Gunners boss in December 2019.

Arteta has been able to lead Arsenal into the top half of the league table as well as the FA Cup fourth round where they’ll face Bournemouth.
