Calum Chambers

Arsenal might need to strengthen their squad defensively after the injury to Calum Chambers who has been one of their best defensive players this season. To this effect, Gunners boss Mikel Arteta has been linked with several central defenders as he tries to sign a center back replacement for the crocked Calum Chambers.

Bayern Munich defender Jerome Boateng is an experienced player who has won 15 major trophies at the Allianz Arena and he has been seriously linked with the Gunners in the present window.

According to Sky Sports, Arsenal have asked about the potential signing of the former Manchester City defender.

The publication from Media Referee said that the Gunners would be better served chasing a deal for RB Leipzig center-back Dayot Upamecano who represents a younger option in comparison with Jerome Boateng who has made just nine league appearances for the Bavarian giants this term.

Since signing for Bayern Munich from Manchester City in 2011, Jerome Boateng has made over 300 appearances.

Dayot Upamecano is ten years younger than Jerome Boateng who is of Ghanaian descent.

The French junior international has 18 months left on his present contract at RB Leipzig.

He has both the French and Guinea Bissau passports but the central defender has opted to play for France.
