Chelsea have been boosted with the news that transfer target David Alaba is interested in trying a new league apart from the German Bundesliga.

The Bayern Munich left-back confirmed in one of his recent interviews that he could try a new league apart from Germany.

David Alaba has played in Germany throughout his entire career after coming through the Bayern Munich ranks to make his debut for the first team.

Spanish giants Real Madrid tried to sign him some years ago but were unsuccessful.

He has 18 months left on his current deal at the Allianz Arena and the Austrian international could be set to try a new adventure apart from the familiar surroundings of German football.

Chelsea have been touted to make him a £60m addition to their squad this month and it would benefit German Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich as well since the Bavarian giants won’t be able to get that amount of money for him this summer when he has just one year left to go.

Chelsea manager Frank Lampard is eyeing a new left-back as he has no faith in both Emerson Palmieri and Marcos Alonso who are his options at the moment.

Right-back specialist Cesar Azpilicueta has been used at left-back several times this season.
