Sporting Lisbon midfielder Bruno Fernandes has dispelled transfer rumours that said he came close to signing for Tottenham last summer.
According to one of the latest interviews granted by the Portuguese international via the Daily Express, Bruno Fernandes said that he only agreed for talks with Tottenham Hotspur as they represent the kind of club that interests him.
Bruno Fernandes became the subject of transfer interest for a lot of European sides last summer after he scored 32 goals and also added 18 assists in the colours of Sporting Lisbon last season.

The young Portuguese midfielder recently signed a new Sporting Lisbon contract though reports claimed that there is a release clause that allows him to leave the club at any time.
In the other transfer news related to Manchester United, Inter Milan have contacted the agent of Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Christian Eriksen over a move to the San Siro.
Inter Milan want to sign him on a free transfer this summer rather than sign the Danish international for £17m as stipulated by Tottenham Hotspur during the January transfer window.
Christian Eriksen has been at North London club Tottenham Hotspur for almost seven years since his move from Dutch champions Ajax Amsterdam in the summer of 2013.
