Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has revealed the club’s plans for this January transfer window.

Klopp talked about the Reds’ plans for the current winter transfer market during his pre-match press conference for the Sheffield United game in the Premier League.

Liverpool played hosts to Sheffield United in the last game of the Matchday 21 clash in the Premier League with the target of extending their lead at the top of that table.

The Reds can move 13 points clear at the top of the Premier League table by beating the Blades at home.

The corresponding fixture ended in a 1-0 away win for Liverpool courtesy Dutch international Georginio Wijnaldum who pounced on a goalkeeping error from Sheffield United shot-stopper Dean Henderson for the only goal of the season.

Ahead of the Sheffield United game, Jurgen Klopp said that Liverpool could still sign players in the January transfer window after the transfer of Japanese international Takumi Minamino.

The 22-cap Japanese international has signed for Liverpool after the reigning European champions activated the release clause in his contract at Austrian Bundesliga champions Red Bull Salzburg.

The Japanese attacking midfielder spent five years at Red Bull Salzburg whom he joined from Cerezo Osaka FC of Japan in 2015.
