Spanish news outlet El Desmarque said that Liverpool are in pole position to sign Brazilian center-back Diego Carlos who played his club for Spanish La Liga outfit Sevilla at the moment.
Diego Carlos has been a revelation since the Brazilian defender left French Ligue 1 club Nantes for Sevilla in the summer and it has been stated that the Reds want to sign him as the perfect partner for Virgil Van Dijk at the heart of their defence.
He has a release clause of £63m in his Sevilla contract which Liverpool is ready to pay in full next summer to ward off the interest of Real Madrid whose president Florentino Perez see him as the long-term replacement for club skipper Sergio Ramos.
