Chelsea have lacked creativity in the past few league games and that has promoted the need for a playmaker following the exit of Eden Hazard in the summer.
The Blues have been linked with a move for German international playmaker Julian Draxler according to the publication from the stables of the Daily Star.
It was stated that Chelsea are in pole position to sign the player who plays his club football for French Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint Germain (PSG).
Chelsea suffered on the creative end in the last seven games before the Arsenal clash in the Premier League at the weekend.

The Blues struggled with creativity thus losing five of their last seven games in the Premier League before they returned to winning ways with the 2-1 comeback win over the Gunners courtesy two late goals.
The lack of creativity could be traced to the exit of former talisman Eden Hazard who left the club after seven hugely successful years.
His last game turned out to be the Europa League win over Arsenal in the summer as they secured their second Europa League title via a 4-1 win over the Gunners in their final clash in Baku, Azerbaijan.
Chelsea received around £100m for his transfer to Real Madrid this summer.
