Six-time European champions Liverpool have recalled one of their loan players in a bid to ease their centre back worries ahead of the coming weeks.
The decision to recall the player from his loan spell was confirmed by Liverpool earlier this week.
Nathaniel Philips is a 22-year-old centre back and he’s the player in question.
He was on loan at VfB Stuttgart of German Bundesliga II until now when Liverpool made the decision to call off his loan transfer due to the need to shore up their options on the centre back front as a result of the various injuries in the squad.

Nathaniel Philips has played 11 times for VfB Stuttgart this season and he could make his debut for Liverpool during the FA Cup clash with Merseyside rivals Everton at the start of the New Year.
Liverpool have just two fit central defenders in their squad at the moment.
Virgil Van Dijk and Joe Gomez are the only fit centre backs in the Liverpool squad with the likes of Joel Matip and Dejan Lovren injured at the moment.
Brazilian international utility player Fabinho can fill a lot of positions defensively but he’s also out with a knee injury until the New Year.
