As at two days ago, the advantage was 10 points before Liverpool thrashed Leicester City 4-0 away from home on Thursday night to extend that lead to 13 points before Manchester City failed to cut it down to 11 points.
A win over hosts Wolverhamtpon Wanderers would have made that possible for Pep Guardiola and his Manchester City players.

They were well on course for victory over Wolves with ten men before their hosts scored three goals in the second half to overturn the 2-0 lead taken by a pair of goals from Raheem Sterling.
Wolves got their goals through the likes of Adama Traore, Raul Jimenez and Matt Doherty.
Their next game is a trip to league leaders Liverpool who can take further steps to a first league title with another win.
