Liverpool have been handed a big boost on the injury front ahead of their top-of-the-table clash with nearest challengers Leicester City at the top of the Premier League table following the news that important player Harvey Barnes could miss the game.

Young English winger Harvey Barnes sustained an ankle problem during the last league game which ended in a 3-1 defeat at the home of Premier League champions Manchester City.

The defeat at the hands of Manchester City ended a run of 11 games without defeat for the Foxes as they had an early goal from star player Jamie Vardy overturned with the aid of three Manchester City goals.

The loss to Manchester City ensured that Leicester City are now winless in the last three games in all competitions.

The Foxes are without a win in the last two games after the 1-1 draw at home to Norwich City during the penultimate league game for the team.

Leicester City would be hoping to become the second team to take points off league leaders Liverpool after Manchester United.

Liverpool have been flawless this season with 16 wins and one draw from 17 league matches.

On Harvey Barnes, Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers said that the player has been receiving treatment in the last two days with the hope that the winger will return to training in time for the Liverpool clash on Boxing Day.
