Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba has been ruled out of the Carabao Cup quarterfinal clash with League Two club Colchester United.

Red Devils manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer confirmed that Pogba will miss the Colchester United game.

According to him, Paul Pogba is fit again but he has not trained for days due to illness.

The French World Cup winner called in sick since he got the permission to attend his brother’s wedding ceremony at the weekend.

Manchester United play hosts to fourth-tier side Colchester United at Old Trafford on Wednesday night with the hope of securing a place in the semifinals.

The Red Devils reached the quarterfinals after beating top four rivals Chelsea 2-1 away from home with Marcus Rashford getting the two goals.

Manchester United had earlier beaten League One team Rochdale 1-0 at home in the third round of the competition this season.

Paul Pogba was involved in the Rochdale game as he made his return from an ankle injury before aggravating the problem some days later.

The Frenchman aggravated the ankle injury in the next league game after the Rochdale win which was a 1-1 draw at home to top four rivals Arsenal.

Pogba has made just six appearances for the Red Devils in this campaign.
