Carlo Ancelotti is close to making a return to the Premier League with Merseyside giants Everton with the Italian tactician set to be named the Toffees manager.

According to Sky Sports, Carlo Ancelotti will be named the new Everton manager later this week.

Carlo Ancelotti started this season as the Napoli manager until he was sacked last week after a dismal run of form.

He was sacked as the Napoli manager despite the win over Genk in their final Group E game in the Champions League.

That result against Genk secured their place in the first knockout stage of the competition and the Italians have since been pitched with five-time champions Barcelona in the round of 16.

The report from the Daily Telegraph revealed that Everton have given Carlo Ancelotti a contract until 2024.

The Toffees have made their choice as regards the replacemnet for Marco Silva who was sacked as the Everton manager after the club dropped into the bottom three on the league table.

Everton have club legend Duncan Ferguson as their interim manager at the moment and the former striker has been able to take the club out of the bottom three with four points from the two games under him.
