Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has revealed that his squad needs two or three new players to be considered a strong one.

Solskjaer made this known during his pre-match press conference for the final Group L game at home to Dutch club AZ Alkmaar in the Europa League.

The Manchester United manager hinted that the Red Devils will strengthen their squad in the winter transfer market next month.

The Red Devils have been linked with several transfer targets including Red Bull Salzburg striker Erling Haaland who has painted European football with goals this season.

Erling Haaland has scored 28 goals for his Austrian club this season including eight goals in six Champions League matches.

The 19-year-old attacker is the second highest goalscorer in the Champions League behind Robert Lewandowski who plays his club football for German Bundesliga team Bayern Munich.

Robert Lewandowski has scored 10 goals in the Champions League this term.

Manchester United are expected to strengthen the team in midfield and in attack.

The Red Devils have also been linked with Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho who has spent three seasons at the club since leaving Premier League champions Manchester City.

The England international has scored 10 goals for Borussia Dortmund this season.
