A former Premier League player will return to the English top flight during the January transfer window according to the newest reports from the media in the United Kingdom.

AC Milan winger Fabio Borini was formerly on the payroll of Liverpool and Sunderland before he returned to Italian football.

The Italian international is attracting serious interest from Crystal Palace according to the publication from The Chronicle via journalist Craig John’s.

The former Liverpool player has not been able to nail down a starting spot in the AC Milan team under new manager Stefano Pioli who replaced compatriot Marco Giampaolo earlier this season.

Italian tactician Marco Giampaolo secured the AC Milan job after a successful spell at fellow Serie A club Sampdoria, but he was unable to replicate that success with AC Milan and that led to his sack.

His dismissal from the AC Milan managerial job led to the advent of Stefano Pioli as the Rossoneri boss.

Fabio Borini has been restricted to just 70 minutes of football since Stefano Pioli was named the AC Milan and that has led to the possibility of the player returning to the Premier League.

Crystal Palace are in pole position to sign Italian international Borini.
