Angry Mourinho blast Woodward for blocking his move for Juventus Star

José Mourinho was linked with quite a number of top-class defenders during the summer window but was unable to finalize a deal for any of them before the window shut down.

Harry Maguire, Jerome Boateng, Leonardo Bonucci, Toby Alderweireld, and Yerry Mina were all tracked by the Portuguese manager, hoping to get at least one defender from the list.

According to Yahoo Sports, Mourinho’s move for former AC Milan defender Leonardo Bonucci was surprisingly blocked by his employers, who claimed they can’t afford to release huge money for his signature.

Yahoo Sports revealed that the San Siro outfits wanted £37m for the Italian international but the Red Devils board members were reluctant to pay such amount for the player, whom they believe is too old to command such steep price tag.

As result of their decision to end negotiations with Milan for the experienced and ever-reliable defender, Mourinho is furious with his employers and has reportedly blasted them for not being able to play their role in his mission to win the Premier League this season.

The Sun added that Mourinho’s relationship with Woodward continues to be a major source of concern for the club due to the recent outburst between the two parties over the manager’s failed move for the Italian international.

Nonetheless, Bonucci was eventually signed by Juventus before the close of the transfer period as Massimiliano have so much trust in the player’s strength and discipline at the back of the pitch,
