Manchester United defender Chris Smalling has found a new lease of life in the Italian Serie A after leaving the Red Devils in the summer.
The England international centre back joined Italian Serie A capital club AS Roma on loan from Manchester United before the summer’s transfer window ended at the start of September and he has been a revelation for the Italians.
Chris Smalling produced a man-of-the-match outing for AS Roma in their latest league win.
The Manchester United loanee was amongst the goals as AS Roma beat league newcomers Brescia 3-0 to secure a spot in the top four.

Chris Smalling opened the floodgate of goals at the start of the second half before he turned provider for the other two goals scored by centre back partner Gianluca Mancini and Eden Hazard.
All the three Roma goals came within the space of 17 minutes.
The win over Brescia was enough to push AS Roma above Cagliari into fourth position on the league table with 25 points from 13 games, while opponents Brescia are rooted to the bottom of the league table with seven points.
Chris Smalling has now scored two league goals this season as a result of his latest strike vs Brescia this making him the first Englishman to achieve that feat in the Serie A after David Beckham.
