Newly appointed Tottenham Hotspur manager Jose Mourinho is said to be eyeing a move for one of his former players ahead of the transfer window which reopens in a few weeks’ time.

According to The Telegraph, Jose Mourinho wants to sign Swedish football legend Zlatan Ibrahimovic on a free transfer during the upcoming January transfer window.

Mourinho worked with Zlatan Ibrahimovic at Inter Milan during the 2008/09 season before the player joined Spanish giants Barcelona in a swap deal involving Cameroonian football legend Samuel Eto’o.

The pair linked up again at Manchester United in 2016 shortly after Jose Mourinho was named the Red Devils manager.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic joined Manchester United on a free transfer at the end of his contract at French club Paris Saint Germain (PSG).

He spent 18 months at Manchester United before leaving for the MLS (Major League Soccer).

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been at MLS outfit LA Galaxy for the last two years until recently when he became a free agent at the expiration of his contract at the club.

Before the latest media reports of a free transfer move to Tottenham Hotspur, Zlatan Ibrahimovic had been linked with clubs like former team AC Milan and Bologna in the Italian Serie A.
