Premier League giants Arsenal are reportedly keen on a move for Juventus defender Merih Demirel ahead of the January transfer window.

This is according to the latest reports coming out of the media in Italy.

Merih Demirel became a Juventus player in the summer following his transfer from fellow Italian top flight club Sassuolo.

The Turkish international center-back is in his first season at Juventus but that has not stopped the interest of Arsenal who want to sign him during the winter transfer market in January according to the specific report from the stables of Italian media outlet Tuttosport.

Arsenal scouts were in attendance as Merih Demirel helped Turkey to secure their place at Euro 2020 with a goalless draw at home to Iceland on Thursday night.

He also played for Turkey as they rounded off their Euro 2020 qualifiers with a 2-0 win at the home of Andorra on Sunday night.

Arsenal manager Unai Emery is targeting the additions of new defenders to his squad to solve his defensive issues.

The Gunners have conceded 17 goals in just 12 league games this season and they have just two clean sheets to show for their troubles.

Arsenal are in sixth position with 17 points only.
