Fallen Premier League outfit Manchester United are reportedly in pole position to sign in-form Red Bull Salzburg striker Erling Haaland next summer.
This is according to the publication from Norwegian media outlet Dagbladet.
It was revealed that Manchester United are the frontrunners for the signature of the player that could set them back financially to the tune of €100m.
Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has already assigned trusted scout Simon Wells to monitor the development of the player.
Erling Haaland worked with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer while he was the manager of Norwegian top flight team Molde.

Solskjaer left Molde for Manchester United in December 2018 to replace Jose Mourinho as the Red Devils manager and Erling Haaland followed in his footsteps by leaving the Norwegian club.
Haaland left Molde for current club Red Bull Salzburg during the winter transfer market earlier this year and has grown to become a key player for the Austrian champions.
His impressive form for Red Bull Salzburg has led to the interest of a lot of the major teams on the European football scene.
Apart from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Manchester United, the Spanish La Liga duo of Barcelona and Real Madrid are also keeping tabs on the player.
