Fallen Premier League giants Manchester United are eyeing a big bid for Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Christian Eriksen ahead of the January transfer window.
This is according to the report from the Daily Express which revealed that Manchester United have opened talks with Danish international Christian Eriksen.
A fee of around £42m is being mooted for the Tottenham Hotspur midfielder.
The aforementioned publication also revealed that Christian Eriksen is holding out for a move to Real Madrid despite the interest from Manchester United.
Christian Eriksen has less than a year left on his current deal at Tottenham Hotspur.

The Danish international can start to speak with foreign clubs as from the New Year when he has six months left on his Tottenham Hotspur deal.
Eriksen has been a Tottenham Hotspur player since joining them from Ajax Amsterdam in the summer or 2013.
He has grown to become a key player at the North London club since his arrival from Dutch Eredivisie giants Ajax Amsterdam some six years ago.
Christian Eriksen was a major performer for Tottenham Hotspur as they reached the Champions League final.
He featured for Tottenham Hotspur in the Champions League final but was unable to prevent the 2-0 defeat to Liverpool.
