North London giants Arsenal are plotting a January move for Eintracht Frankfurt defender Martin Hinteregger according to Football Insider.

It was revealed that the Gunners will have to fend off the interest of fellow Premier League side West Ham United to sign the player.

Arsenal and West Ham United are London clubs and they are both interested in Austrian international Martin Hinteregger who’s rated at £22m.

The Gunners want to beef up their defence with the signing of the Eintracht Frankfurt defender.

They have already signed two central defenders this season following the acquisitions of David Luiz and William Saliba.

Brazilian international David Luiz left Chelsea to join London rivals Arsenal in a deal reported to be around £8m.

He has already scored two league goals for Arsenal since his arrival from Chelsea.

Arsenal also signed William Saliba from French Ligue 1 side Saint Etienne in a £27m deal this summer before he was loaned back to the France-based club for this season.

William Saliba is one of the most exciting young players in French football and he’s expected to team up with his Arsenal teammates next summer at the end of his loan spell at his boyhood club Saint Etienne.
