Manchester United and Tottenham are reportedly in the race for Ajax’s young goalkeeper Andre Onana following his awe-inspiring performances in last season’s Champions League competition.
The youngster was influential as Ajax surprisingly negotiated their way to the competition’s semifinal stage though they were eventually beaten by Tottenham.
Tottenham’s first-choice goalie Hugo Lloris is far from his best and he is currently out injured, while his back-up Paulo Gazzaniga hasn’t been too impressive either.
Hence, Mauricio Pochettino has decided to begin transfer negotiations with Onana’s Albert, according to Dutch media outlet Telegraaf.

Meanwhile, the same media outlet revealed that Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is ready to provide stern competition for David de Gea next season and he has equally shown interest in Onana’s service.
Despite the presence of Sergio Romero who has been a reliable backup to the Spanish goaltender, Solskjaer believes the young Cameroon international will suit his long-term plans for the future.
PSG are also said to be monitoring situations as Tuchel hopes to launch a bid for the player next year.
The same report further revealed that the Eredivise side won’t release the young goalkeeper for a fee of less than £40m in the next transfer window.
