Manchester United are set to be joined by Chelsea in the race to sign Ligue 1 striker Moussa Dembele in the summer transfer window.
Though the Red Devils are hoping to complete their move for the Frenchman in January, it is increasingly difficult to see that happen as reports claimed that the Ligue 1 side are unlikely to release the striker mid-way through to the season.
This means that Solskjaer and his employers will have to wait until the summer transfer window to stand a chance of capturing his services.
However, Chelsea are now set to rival their fellow Premier League side for the Frenchman in the summer after serving an 18-month transfer ban imposed on them by FIFA.

The Blues were unable to sign any player during the last summer transfer window and they won’t be involved in any transfer dealings in January as they are still under the ban.
Lampard’s side, who have been in great form despite their inability to sign new players, are now targeting Dembele’s signature as they hope to make him their first signing in more than a year.
If report from the Daily Mail is something to trust, United are leading the race for the French young striker having sent scouts and representatives to run the rules over his performances in recent weeks.
