Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi has returned to the Argentina squad for the upcoming friendly games against fellow South Americans Uruguay and Brazil later this month.
Messi was part of the 26-man squad named by Argentina national team manager Lionel Scaloni for the two friendly games.
The Barcelona skipper returns to the Argentina squad after serving his three-match ban handed to him for the red card received during the 3rd/4th place playoff game with Chile at this summer’s COPA America.
The Argentina captain was also punished for his outburst against South American (CONMEBOL) officials.

Messi felt his team was cheated during their semifinal match with hosts Brazil at the aforementioned COPA America tournament earlier this year.
Lionel Scaloni has the last opportunity to assess his squad during the upcoming international friendly games against Uruguay and Brazil with the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers (CONMEBOL) starting in March.
Lionel Messi has had to battle with injuries this season but he has been able to overcome those setbacks to push Barcelona to the top of the Spanish La Liga table.
He has scored four goals in four league starts for Barcelona since his full recovery from injury including a brace during the last league game, a 5-1 win at home to Real Valladolid.
