Manchester United loanee Chris Smalling will return to the Theatre of Dreams after his loan spell at Italian Serie A giants AS Roma.

This is according to the publication from Sky Sports which revealed that England international Chris Smalling will return to Manchester United next summer after his loan spell at AS Roma ends.

Chris Smalling joined AS Roma on loan from Manchester United until next summer.

He signed for the Italian capital club on loan before the end of this summer’s transfer market.

Chris Smalling had to leave Manchester United in the summer after the Red Devils spent a world-record fee for Harry Maguire.

Manchester United spent 80 million pounds to sign Harry Maguire from fellow Premier League outfit Leicester City this summer.

Harry Maguire has been able to form a potent centre back partnership with Swedish international Victor Lindelof at the heart of the Manchester United defense.

The England international spent two years with the Foxes before leaving for the Theatre of Dreams.

On his part, Chris Smalling has been very impressive for AS Roma this season but recent reports that his loan deal will be made permanent are wide off the mark according to the aforementioned publication.
