It’s no longer news that United are close to sealing a deal with Juventus for 33-year-old striker Mario Mandzukic to boost the team’s attacking prowess in the second part of the season.
The latest reports from the camp of the Serie A star reveal that Qatari club Al Duhail are eyeing a big-money move for the experienced striker and they could lure him away from Turin ahead of United.
According to the Daily Record, the Qatar Stars League side are set to leapfrog United in the race for the former Bayern Munich forward as they have launched a huge £6.5m-per-year salary contract for the star player.

Though Mandzukic had earlier turned down the chance to leave Europe during the summer transfer window, this latest offer is huge enough to convince the player who is at the latter stages of his successful career.
This will come as a huge setback to Solskjaer’s hope of finding a quick solution to the team’s goal-scoring problem in January.
As it stands, the Red Devils might need to shift their attention to Ligue 1 striker Moussa Dembele who has been in a rich vein of form so far this season.
