Manchester United have reportedly reached a £10m deal with Juventus for Mandzukic’s services in January but the player is set to discuss his future with the Serie A side.

According to The Mirror, Juventus sporting director Fabio Paratici will meet with the Croatian striker in coming days to discuss United’s offer and his plans for the next transfer window.

The Sporting Director revealed that the 33-year-old was close to joining a Qatari club in the summer window but they failed to reach an agreement before the end of the transaction period.

“With Mandzukic, we chose a quiet time for him to leave but a move to Qatar [in the summer] did not materialise so he stayed with us. Now we will talk to him and see what happens in January.” he said.

Since the start of the season, the former Atletico and Bayern Munich striker hasn’t featured for Maurizio Sarri’s men as he is behind Ronaldo and Higuain in the pecking order.

Should he join United in January, Mandzukic will become the third oldest player under Solskjaer’s tutelage behind Lee Grant and Ashley Young.

He has scored 188 combined goals for all the clubs he has played for, and he could be the best short-term solution to United’s goalscoring problems.
