Manchester United and their neighbors Manchester City are known for their intense rivalry on the field of play and they are set to rekindle the rivalry in January.
This time, they are set to slug it out in an off-the-pitch affair as Ole Solskjaer and Pep Guardiola are both interested in Rochdale’s youngster Luke Matheson.
The Daily Star claimed that the two managers have set their eyes on the teenager and they are ready to go extra miles to lure him to their respective clubs.
According to the British media, the 17-year-old right-back attracted Solskjaer’s attention following his mind-blowing display against the Red Devils in the League Cup this season.

The same media source further revealed that Guardiola has been a fan of the England U18 defender for a while and he won’t mind luring the youngster to the Etihad Stadium even if he would be sent to the academy to develop his game.
As much as the report claimed that Rochdale are set to let go of the brilliant defender who can score goals, Matheson might need to consider his chances of getting regular first-team opportunities before deciding who to join in the winter transfer window.
