Burnley midfielder Danny Drinkwater is in contention for the Premier League clash with Leicester City this weekend.

Danny Drinkwater is on loan at Burnley from West London giants Chelsea following his move in the summer.

The England international midfielder has joined the Clarets on loan from Chelsea until next summer.

Danny Drinkwater has returned to full fitness at Burnley following a month out with an ankle problem.

He sustained the injury during an altercation at a nightclub in Manchester last month.

Danny Drinkwater would be hoping to get some playing time with the Clarets after his lean spell at Chelsea before his loan move away from the club this summer.

He was frozen out of the Chelsea team last season under the managerial reign of Italian tactician Maurizio Sarri.

Danny Drinkwater was told by the then Chelsea manager that he’s not part of his plans.

He played just one game for Chelsea throughout last season.

The same thing happened to him when Frank Lampard replaced Maurizio Sarri as the Chelsea manager this summer.

The English midfielder was involved with Chelsea and manager Frank Lampard during preseason before he was told to look for a new club by the newly appointed Blues’ boss.
