Former Manchester United and Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has reportedly turned down the managerial job at French Ligue 1 side Lyon.

This is according to the report from French news outlet RMC Sport which revealed that Jose Mourinho has been offered the vacant managerial job at Lyon.

The former French champions are looking for a new manager after Sylvinho was booted out of office earlier this week.

Sylvinho was sacked as the Lyon manager after an underwhelming start to his career at the club having been appointed in the summer.

Lyon are in the bottom half of the French Ligue 1 league table at the moment and the last game played under the aforementioned Sylvinho was the Saint Etienne game which ended in a 1-0 defeat for former French champions, Lyon.

Portuguese tactician Jose Mourinho is not ready to take the managerial job at Lyon as he’s holding out on a possible return to English football.

Mourinho has been out of the dugout since his dismissal as the Manchester United manager at the end of last year.

The former Inter Milan and FC Porto boss was dismissed at Old Trafford after an underwhelming start to last season.

He was replaced by former club striker Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at Manchester United.
