Fallen Premier League giants Manchester United have prioritised four positions ahead of the next transfer window which opens in January.

This is according to the publication from the Manchester Evening News (MEN) which revealed that the left-back, midfield, forward and central striker positions are the priorities for the Red Devils ahead of next year.

Manchester United will certainly sign players in the winter transfer window in January after their poor start to the season.

The Red Devils have made their worst start to a Premier League campaign after just two wins in the first eight games.

As a matter of fact, it is their worst league start for three decades.

Manchester United have recorded nine points from the eight league games played this season and that has left them in 12th position.

The former Premier League champions are just two points better than the last relegation place presently occupied by Everton.

The pressure is on manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer following the loss to Newcastle United which left Manchester United in a precarious position on the league table.

Young Newcastle United midfielder Matty Longstaff scored the only goal of the game on his Premier League debut to give his team a 1-0 win over the Red Devils.
