Arsenal manager Unai Emery has challenged out-of-favour midfielder Mesut Ozil to fight for a place in his squad.
Unai Emery said this during his post-match press conference after the Europa League clash with Standard Liege FC of Belgium at the Emirates Stadium on Thursday night.
The Gunners boss was quizzed about Ozil by reporters after the German World Cup winner was left out of the squad for the Europa League game against Standard Liege.
Mesut Ozil has made just two appearances for Arsenal this season.
He played 71 minutes of the Premier League clash at Watford which ended in a 2-2 draw in his first appearance of the season before making his second appearance of the season during the Carabao Cup win over English Championship side Nottingham Forest.
Mesut Ozil also played 71 minutes as the Gunners booked their spot in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup via the 5-0 home win over Nottingham Forest.
The German was an obvious absentee for the Gunners who made two wins from two games in Group F of the Europa League.
Arsenal followed their 3-0 Europa League opening win at German Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt with the 4-0 victory at home to Belgian top flight side Standard Liege.
