Spanish tactician Unai Emery sent a strong message to the Arsenal fans during his pre-match presser on Wednesday ahead of the Standard Liege game billed for the Emirates Stadium on Thursday night.

He told the Arsenal fans to embrace the Europa League before adding that the competition represents a good avenue to qualify for the Champions League ahead of next season.

Unai Emery is a big fan of the Europa League having won the competition on their occasions while he was the manager at Spanish La Liga outfit Sevilla.

The former Almeria and Valencia boss made history as the first manager to win the competition for three successive seasons.

He won the Europa League as the Sevilla manager between 2014 and 2016.

Unai Emery was not successful in the competition last season in his debut campaign as the Gunners manager.

He led Arsenal to the Europa League final before they were thrashed 4-1 by London rivals, Chelsea.
