Manchester United’s hope of signing Real Madrid wonderkid Martin Odegaard has suffered a huge blow as the youngster wants to remain at Santiago Bernabeu.
Odegaard, 20, is currently linked with a move to the English Premier League as Arsenal, United and Manchester City are reportedly monitoring his performance for Real Sociedad.
Spanish outlet El Desmarque revealed that City manager Pep Guardiola sees the youngster as the perfect player to replace aging David Silva, and he’s set to add him to his star-studded squad next year.
The media outlet also speculated that the Gunners and the Red Devils are set to battle the Etihad outfits for the in-form midfielder.
However, the youngster has revealed his desire to remain at Real Madrid and become an integral part of the team.

According to him while speaking to ESPN, he would love to play for the club he joined in 2015.
He said: “Of course, I want to play [for Real Madrid ] but I’m still young so I’m happy [at Real Sociedad] at the moment,”
“I am here[at Real Sociedad ] two years and after that, we will see…I’m dreaming to be the best I can be. You never know what happens in football but my dream, and what I’m hoping for is to play for Madrid.”
He is expected to be with Real Sociedad until 2021 so as to have a stable career.
“My intention is to stay [at Real Sociedad] two years and I think that’s important for me, too. I have had two seasons in a row where I’ve changed teams. To have some stability is good [and] this is a great club and hopefully we can get European football for next season,” he said.
