Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has singled out one player for praise after the Champions League clash with French Ligue 1 side Lille on Wednesday night.

Frank Lampard secured his first Champions League win as a manager after his Chelsea side beat Lille 2-1 away from home in what was a Matchday Two meeting.

After the game, Lampard told reporters how he was impressed with the performance of Fikayo Tomori.

The Blues boss praised the quality of the young center-back before encouraging him to maintain his good form.

Fikayo Tomori is the first choice center-back at Chelsea at the moment as confirmed by his manager in one of his press conferences last month.

He played the entire duration of the Champions League game at Lille as Chelsea picked up their first win of the season.

Chelsea took the lead through Tammy Abraham in the 22nd minute before the hosts equalized through the in-form Victor Osimhen who has now scored seven goals in all competitions.

The Blues scored the winning goal 13 minutes from time through Brazilian international Willian.

Chelsea go into the double header with Dutch Eredivisie giants Ajax Amsterdam in second place with three points from the first two games in Group H.
