Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp might be tempted to make some changes to his starting lineup ahead of the crucial Champions League meeting with Red Bull Salzburg FC of Austria.

Klopp and his Liverpool players will host the Austrians at Anfield on Wednesday night in what’s one of the Matchday 2 games.

The Liverpool boss can’t afford to make wholesale changes to his team ahead of the Red Bull Salzburg game mainly due to the fact they lost their opening game of the Champions League group stage.

Liverpool began the defence of their Champions League title with a defeat at Napoli on Matchday 1.

The Italian Serie  A giants scored two second half goals to secure a 2-0 victory over the holders.

It was the first and only defeat suffered by Liverpool since the start of the season in August.

Dries Mertens (penalty) and second half substitute Fernando Llorente got the goals for Napoli.

Ahead of the Red Bull Salzburg, Klopp is expected to make at least one change with Joel Matip ruled out because of injury.

England international Joe Gomez is expected to replace him in the Liverpool XI.

Liverpool Starting Lineup: Adrian; Trent Alexandre-Arnold, Joe Gomez, Virgil Van Dijk, Andy Robertson; Jordan Henderson, Fabinho, Georginio Wijnaldum; Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino.
