Nicholas Pepe Reveals Why He’s Struggling At Arsenal

New Arsenal signing Nicholas Pepe has revealed the reason behind his struggles this season.

He talked about the start to his Arsenal career in an exclusive interview with popular French media outlet RMC Sport.

Pepe said that he has been finding it difficult to adapt to a new surrounding and a new league since joining Arsenal from French Ligue 1 outfit Lille in a club-record deal in the summer.

The 24-year-old has scored just one goal for the Gunners in his eight appearances.

His only goal in an Arsenal shirt came during the penultimate league game against newly promoted side Aston Villa in the Premier League.

Pepe scored one of the goals as Arsenal came from behind twice to beat Aston Villa 3-2 in a week six encounter in the Premier League.

His goal came from the penalty spot after French midfielder Matteo Guendouzi was brought down by Aston Villa defender Bjorn Engels.

Nicholas Pepe was one of the hottest players on the European football scene this summer before he joined Arsenal from French Ligue 1 side Lille.

He spoke to RMC Sport shortly after the Premier League game between Manchester United and Arsenal on Monday night.

The two sides played out a 1-1 draw with Pepe featuring for 74 minutes before being replaced by Reiss Nelson.

    Pepe needs time! Also a licence to roam across the front line might help him to relax and bring his game to the table.And stop going on about the price tag!!
    We have only put a deposit down!!

Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is still maintaining his stance on the new contract offered him by the club according to the Daily Mirror.

It was rehealed that Aubameyang continues to turn down a new Arsenal contract as he waits on a move from Spanish La Liga champions Barcelona.

The Catalan giants are one of the clubs being mentioned as possible next destination for Gabonese international Aubameyang.

Apart from Barcelona, Manchester United and several Chinese Super League (CSL) teams have been touted as the next club for the former Borussia Dortmund and Saint Etienne player.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has 18 months left on his Arsenal contract and that could spell danger for the Gunners who will be reluctant to lose their best player.

The Gabonese national team skipper has been the livewire of the Arsenal team for the better part of the last year especially in the Premier League.

Aubameyang has scored 13 of the last 18 Arsenal goals in the Premier League.

He already has eight Premier League goals this season while the next Arsenal players (Alexandre Lacazette and David Luiz) on the goalscoring chart have two league goals apiece.

Lacazette is his strike partner and he also rejected a new Arsenal contract though he has two-and-a-half years left on his own Gunners deal at the moment.

AS Roma Eyeing January Move For €20m Arsenal Target

Italian Serie A captain club AS Roma are reportedly keeping tabs on Real Madrid forward Mariano Diaz.

It was revealed by popular Italian media publication Corriere dello Sport that Roma want to sign Mariano Diaz when the winter transfer window opens again in the next few weeks.

Real Madrid will demand €20m for Mariano Diaz who was linked with Premier League giants Arsenal in the summer but the Gunners eventually settled for Ivory Coast winger Nicholas Pepe.

Arsenal were in search of a forward during the summer and Mariano Diaz was one of the names linked with the position before they settled for Pepe who has scored just three goals since his big money move to the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal signed Pepe for a club-record fee of £72m and he’s yet to score from open play for his new team.

Mariano Diaz has been on the outskirts of Real Madrid for the majority of his time at the club since returning from French Ligue 1 side Lyon at the start of last season.

The likes of Eden Hazard, Karim Benzema, Gareth Bale, Rodrygo, Vinicius and many more are ahead of him in the pecking order as far as the Real Madrid attack is concerned.

Two European heavyweights are ready to make Mauricio Pochettino their next manager after he was relieved of his job at Tottenham Hotspur earlier this week.

This is according to the latest reports making the rounds in the British media.

The European heavyweights namely Barcelona and Bayern Munich want to sign Mauricio Pochettino as revealed by the specific publication from The Sun.

Pochettino has also emerged as a surprise contender for the Arsenal job with Spanish tactician Unai Emery hanging on to his job at the moment though it must be pointed out that his allegiance to North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur could be a stumbling block to the Gunners job.

Veteran Premier League manager Harry Redknapp has backed Mauricio Pochettino for the controversial Arsenal job.

Harry Redknapp made this known in his latest interview as monitored by popular media outlet Goal when he was asked about the transfer reports linking Mauricio Pochettino with the Arsenal managerial job knowing that the Argentine tactician has history with North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur.

Mauricio Pochettino was the Tottenham Hotspur manager for over five years until he was sacked on Tuesday night after the poor league start made by the Champions League campaigners this season.

Former Arsenal forward Serge Gnabry was the star of the show after he scored three goals as Germany came from a goal down to thrash Northern Ireland 6-1 at home in their final qualifier for Euro 2020.

Germany had already qualified for the tournament billed to take place in 12 cities across Europe next summer and the win over Northern Ireland ensured that they finished Group C as group winners.

They didn’t have it their way after going behind to a Michael Smith strike in the first ten minutes.

Serge Gnabry produced a smart finish to equalize for the Germans twelve minutes after the seventh minute opener from the hosts.

His Bayern Munich teammate Leon Goretzka scored two minutes before the interval to give Germany a 2-1 lead.

Serge Gnabry added two more goals in the second half in addition to further goals from the aforementioned Leon Goretzka and Julian Brandt.

The ex-Arsenal forward was able to score his first hattrick for his country before being replaced by Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Nadeim Amiri for the last ten minutes.

Gnabry now has 13 goals in 13 appearances for Germany with the treble against the Irish team.

It is his second hattrick of the season having scored a treble for his club during the 7-2 mauling of hosts Tottenham Hotspur in the Champions League.

Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka was one of the goalscorers for Switzerland as they booked their spot at Euro 2020 with an emphatic victory at the home of Gibraltar.

Switzerland needed to beat their hosts to ensure qualification for the European Championships next year and that was what happened as they won 6-1 in the Group D clash.

It was their final game in the group as they finished Group D leaders as a result of the big win over Gibraltar.

Granit Xhaka scored the final of the game for his second goal of the qualifiers.

FC Basel midfielder Charles Itten was the star of the show for Switzerland after he scored two goals on either side of the halftime interval.

He had earlier emerged as the matchwinner in the penultimate game of the qualifiers for Switzerland last week.

I then came off the bench in the second half to score the only goal of the game during the 1-0 home win over Georgia on Friday night.

He has now scored three goals in his last two games for his country.

Apart from Charles Itten and Granit Xhaka, Loris Benito, Ruben Vargas and Christian Fassnacht were all on target for Switzerland.

Granit Xhaka is out of the Arsenal team at the moment after his altercation with fans last month.
