Champions League: How Barcelona Won Over Inter

0

Spanish La Liga champions Barcelona have recorded their first win in the Champions League this season following their comeback home win over Italian Serie A leaders Inter Milan courtesy the second half brace from star striker Luis Suarez.

Barcelona manager Ernesto Valverde has been under some sort of pressure this season after a slow start to the season and the first half display against Inter Milan didn’t do him any good.

Inter Milan took an early lead in the third minute and they were good value for that lead at the halftime interval.

The turning point for Barcelona was when Ernesto Valverde subbed on Chilean international Arturo Vidal in the place of Sergio Busquets with eight second-half minutes gone.

That change proved to be the catalyst for a Barcelona side struggling to break down a resolute Inter Milan defense.

Arturo Vidal made the Barcelona equalizer five minutes after coming on as he provided the assist for the goal scored by Luis Suarez to level proceedings for the Spanish champions.

The match was heading for a draw until the world class run from the returning Lionel Messi teed up Luis Suarez to score his second goal of the game and give his team the three points at stake.
