Joel Matip To Miss Champions League Clash

Liverpool defender Joel Matip will miss the Champions League game with the Austrian side Red Bull Salzburg on Wednesday night.
The Reds host the Austrian side at Anfield later this week and Cameroonian international center-back Matip is expected to miss the game because of the injury he picked up during the Premier League win over newly promoted side Sheffield United at the weekend.
Joel Matip played the entire duration of the away game at Sheffield United which ended in a 1-0 for his team.
The former Schalke 04 of Germany defender helped the Reds keep a clean sheet as they continued their perfect start to the new Premier League season with the win over the Blades.

In the absence of Joel Matip, England international Joe Gomez is expected to slot straight into the Liverpool rearguard as they try to bounce back from the Champions League opening day defeat to Italian Serie A giants Napoli.
The Reds were beaten 2-0 in their away game at Napoli courtesy the goals from Dries Mertens (penalty) and substitute Fernando Llorente.
