Liverpool defender Virgil Van Dijk has had his say on the early lead over Premier League champions Manchester City this season.
Manchester City have won the last two league titles but they trail Liverpool by five points at the top of the Premier League table after seven games.
According to The Mirror, Virgil Van Dijk said that it’s too early to talk about the Premier League title.
Liverpool have won all their seven league games this season including the slim win at the home of newly promoted outfit Sheffield United at the weekend.
The Reds made it seven wins out of seven games with the 1-0 victory over hosts Sheffield United.
Liverpool found things tough until Dutch international Georginio Wijnaldum scored the only goal of the game on the 70th-minute mark.
The win over the Blades opened an eight-point lead over holders Manchester City who played later and were able to reduce the lead back to five points.
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola didn’t start the likes of Sergio Aguero and Bernardo Silva but still had more than enough firepower to beat Everton away from home.
The 3-1 win at Everton ensured that Manchester City move within five points of league leaders Liverpool.
