Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi has revealed his next club after leaving the Catalan giants in the future.

Messi was quizzed by FIFA on his next club after he was named the Men’s Player of the Year Award recipient at the FIFA Award Ceremony held at the Teatro Alla Scala in Milan, Italy on Monday night.

The Barcelona skipper said that he would like to play for Newell’s Old Boys in his native Argentina.

According to him, his childhood dream is to play for Newell’s Old Boys whom he started out his football career with before being spotted by Barcelona.

His talent was discovered by the Catalan giants who invited him to join the famed La Masia Academy.

Lionel Messi won the FIFA Player of the Year for a record sixth time ahead of the likes of Liverpool defender Virgil Van Dijk and Juventus talisman Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Argentine international captain was rewarded for his performances for club and country in the last year.

Messi won the Golden Boot in both the Spanish La Liga and the Champions League.

The 32-year-old won the Spanish La Liga title for a second successive season with Barcelona during the last campaign.

Messi and Barcelona have won seven of their last nine La Liga titles.
