It was the second league goal of the season for the Brazilian who produced a stunning strike to double the advantage for the hosts.
Villarreal captain Santi Cazorla produced a moment of magic for his team on the stroke of halftime to setup a potentially interesting second half.
The Yellow Submarines were not able to get the equalizer as Barcelona were able to maintain that slim 2-1 lead until the end of the game.
Barcelona made it three straight wins at the start of the season and it took them to fourth spot on the table.

This development has not gone down with the club’s star player Lionel Messi who has spoken out and that is expected to cause a shaking in the club, a situation that could force some players out of the team.

During that time, Luis Suarez won 13 trophies for the Catalans.
