Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer could lose his job if reports coming out of the Italian media is anything to go by.

Solskjaer led Manchester United to their worst start in the Premier League era and he’s under serious pressure as a result.

According to the report from popular Italian news portal Tuttosport, Manchester United are closing in on the appointment of former AC Milan and Juventus boss Maximiliano Allegri as the replacement for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

It was also revealed that Allegri will earn 6.5 million pounds on a yearly basis when he becomes the Manchester United manager.

He replaced Antonio Conte as the Juventus manager in the summer of 2014.

Allegri won five Italian Serie A titles while he was the Juventus manager.

The Italian tactician also led Juventus to two Champions League finals in three years.

Ivan Rakitic

Manchester United manager has received a massive boost in his desire to sign former World Cup finalist Ivan Rakitic as the player is reportedly set to end his stay at Camp Nou in January.

It is believed that the Red Devils are eagerly ready to snatch the Croatian midfielder from Camp Nou in the winter as Solskjaer wants to add new faces to his midfield formation.

After falling down the pecking order due to the arrival of Frenkie de Jong from Ajax in the summer, Rakitic is now set to dump the Blaugranas and he’s said to be considering the Theatre of Dreams as his next destination.

Spanish media MARCA, claimed that the Premier League side is likely to sign the 31-year-old midfielder ahead of Juventus who are also in the race for his signature.

The Serie A side were linked with the player’s services immediately after the 2018 World Cup in Russia but the Catalans were unconvinced with their offer.

Maurizio Sarri is reportedly keen on working with the aging midfielder and the Bianconeri are set to compete with United for his services in January.

Meanwhile, Solskjaer is sweating over David De Gea’s fitness level ahead of Liverpool clash after the goalie sustained an injury while in action for Spain on Tuesday.

He will hope to see the 28-year-old return to training as soon as possible or he will count on his second-choice goalkeeper Sergio Romero during the encounter.

Paul Pogba

Manchester United will play host to Liverpool on Sunday and former United player Darren Fletcher is tipping Paul Pogba to make the difference for the Old Trafford outfits during the game.

The Scottish international singled out the World Cup winner for praise as he labeled him the most influential player in Solskjaer’s young squad even if fans can’t stop criticizing him for his inconsistency since his return to the Old Trafford in 2016.

According to the Scotsman in an interview with Sky Sports, the 26-year-old playmaker has always delivered, judging by his goals and assists record for the team.

“If you look at the stats over a season – goals, assists, chances created, passes – he is Manchester United’s most dominant and influential player,” Fletcher told Sky Sports.

“Without a doubt, it is a big blow [that he has been missing], he is a leader, a World Cup winner. His performances get scrutinized to the level where it is a little bit unfair.”

He believes that the Old Trafford Faithfuls expect too much from him which is one of the reasons why he’s under-appreciated by the fans.

“People probably expect too much from him but if you look at the stats he always delivers and makes things happen.

“That’s probably where the criticism comes because he always tries things. Great Manchester United players have always done that, they’ve never gone simple or safe. Paul is maybe trying a little bit too hard.” he concluded.

Just like Fletcher had spoken, Pogba’s return will definitely be a major boost to United’s chance of beating their longtime rivals on Sunday because his creativity will be largely needed by the team.

See Why Man United Fans Are Close To Getting Their Top Request

Manchester United under-fire manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer saw his team record their worst start in the club’s history when they were beaten 1-0 by Newcastle before the international break and fans are asking for the manager’s resignation letter.

Despite the huge call from the Red Devils Faithfuls on Social media, the club’s hierarchy has always shown support for the Norwegian tactician.

However, that could change anytime soon as a report, via TuttoSport, revealed that the Glazers are very close to sealing a deal with Massimiliano Allegri over the possibility of replacing Solskjaer at Old Trafford.

The Italian media outlet claimed that the former Juventus manager is set to return to football after being without a club since his departure from the Turin outfits in the summer, and the Theatre of Dreams could be his next destination.

However, it is believed that the outcome of Sunday’s clash between United and Liverpool will determine Solskjaer’s fate whether he will remain at the helm of affairs or not.

It is equally undetermined if Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino is finally out of the race for the job despite being tagged as the ‘best man’ for the club’s managerial position by many pundits and soccer enthusiasts.

Three Reasons Why Man United Could Pull Out Of Mandzukic’s Deal Revealed

Moussa Dembele

It’s obvious that United need more firepower at the final third of the pitch and they are hugely linked with two strikers — Juventus forward Mario Mandzukic and Lyon’s Moussa Dembele.

With reports from Old Trafford, the Red Devils are closer to reaching an agreement with Juventus for the Croatian star as they have reportedly sealed a £10m deal with the Turin outfits.

But is the 33-year-old the best solution to United’s goalscoring problem? Here is our answer to the question and why we believe Solskjaer shouldn’t make Mandzukic his prime target.

Loading...

1. He’s Not Getting Younger

Judging by his age, the 33-year-old is far from being a long-term project at Old Trafford. Hence, he shouldn’t be the main target for the club. He might find it difficult to succeed at Old Trafford due to the physical nature of the League.

2. His Current Inactive Role At Juventus

Mandzukic hasn’t played a single match for both club and country this season, he will need some time to hit the ground running at Old Trafford.

What United currently need is a player who will make an impact as soon as he’s signed into the club if they must save their season.

3. Huge Salary Demand

If the report from Italy is something to lean on, the player will become United’s fourth highest paid player as he wants £200k as weekly wages. This appears too much for a 33-year-old player who appears to have past his prime.

Moussa Dembele

United fans could welcome a new goalscorer as soon as the winter transfer window commences if reports making the headlines in Europe are something to trust.

This is because many media outlets are linking the Red Devils with a move for Ligue 1 top scorer Moussa Dembele and they claimed that the Premier League side are in talks with the striker’agent over their chances of signing him in January.

According to Duncan Castles, United representatives have traveled down to France to have one-on-one discussions with the player’s agent over the availability of the 23-year-old star during the winter window.

“I can tell you there has been contact between Manchester United and individuals close to Moussa Dembele to assess the player’s interest in the move and to work out what the cost would be in terms of salary,” he said.

The well-known journalist also revealed that the club’s hierarchy is more than willing to know Lyon’s price tag on Dembele as they wish to capture the Frenchman as soon as possible.

Duncan told Reach PLC’s Transfer Window Podcast that: “And also, to get a feel for what it would take to get him out of Lyon. Dembele has been identified by United as a player who could be a top level center-forward down the line.”

This is definitely a smart move from the club’s board members who seem ready to help bolster Solskjaer’s attacking frontline who have just five goals in seven League games.

David De Gea

Manchester United first-choice goalkeeper David De Gea and the Red Devils manager Ole Solskjaer will be unhappy with the turn out of event on Tuesday as the Spanish goalie picked up an injury ahead of Liverpool’s clash on the 20th of this month.

De Gea appeared to have injured his abductor muscle during his country’s 1-1 draw with Sweden and he could be out of the highly-anticipated encounter between the two most successful Premier League clubs.

The goalkeeper couldn’t complete yesterday’s Euro 2020 qualifying clash as he was replaced by young Chelsea goalie Kepa Arrizabalaga in the 60th minute of the encounter.

Speaking to reporters after the game, Spain head coach Moreno revealed that the 28-year-old wanted to end the game but he couldn’t cope with the injury, hence he was replaced in the second half.

“He had pain in his abductor muscle and he received treatment at half-time, but wanted to keep playing. He gave us his word but in the end, he couldn’t continue.” he said.

This means that Argentinian international Sergio Romero — who has been a second choice goalkeeper since he joined the club in 2014 –could be in goal against the Reds if De Gea fails to recover in time for the game.
