Europa League: Man Utd Quartet Ruled Out Of Astana Clash

Four Manchester United players have been ruled out of their upcoming Europa League clash with Astana FC of Kazakhstan.

Manchester United welcome Astana to Old Trafford in their first game back in the Europa League on Thursday night and four players have been confirmed as absentees for that game according to club manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

The Manchester United manager confirmed the absentees for the Astana game during his pre-match press conference on Wednesday.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said that the quartet of Paul Pogba, Anthony Martial, Luke Shaw and Daniel James will all miss the Europa League opener with the Kazakhstani side.

Pogba, Martial and Shaw didn’t feature in the last league game at the weekend.

Summer signing Daniel James played in that league game at home to Leicester City as Manchester United returned to winning ways against the Foxes.

Marcus Rashford scored the only goal of the game from the penalty spot as Manchester United beat Leicester City 1-0 to end a three-game winless run.

The England international was brought down in the Leicester City box by Foxes defender Caglar Soyuncu and that led to the only goal of the game in the eighth minute.

For the Astana game, Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said that young players will be given the opportunity to shine.
